Sundar Pichai-1-1024x630Buffett stated that he would contribute more than 80 percent to foundations that support charitable causes. In the year 2020, he increased that percentage to 99 percent. Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation established by Bill Gates and Melinda (the Microsoft founder) was the principal beneficiary. The foundation focused on global health and education. Bill and Buffett had been friends since the 90s. Other charities that received donations included those that Buffett's three children and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, named after his late wife. It was focused on women's reproductive rights and funded college scholarship programmes. In 2010 Buffett and Gates created the Giving Pledge. This pledge allowed other wealthy individuals to donate a majority of their fortunes to charities.
